Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County will, once again, be hosting Women Build this year.  Our Spring Women Build will be held from May 5 through May 8, 2021, with in-person and virtual options available.  Women Build is a unique opportunity for women to work together to volunteer, build and advocate for decent and affordable homes along with our partner families.  Join us and help raise funds for our mission of providing decent, affordable shelter to deserving families.

Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities. Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.

Here are some key facts:

  • Women Build opportunities are available across the U.S., and any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us. No experience is necessary.

  • Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and also alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that you share.

  • Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone, and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly.

About our Programs

Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County (HFHMC) has been providing affordable housing for our area since 1989. Currently, our 59th home is nearing completion in Long Branch.  Our 60th home will break ground shortly in Atlantic Highlands.

Depending on the construction schedule, weather and each town’s permitting process, we expect to be working on at least one home build project and a wheelchair ramp this Spring.

In addition to traditional new-construction, Habitat’s programming includes:

    • A Brush With Kindness – exterior repair and maintenance projects

    • Ramps and Rails and Aging in Place – accessibility upgrades for senior and disabled residents

Thank you to our generous Women Build Sponsors!
