Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about the Restore? We are here to answer!
If you have a question is not answered below, please email us at restore@habitatmonmouth.org or stop by and speak to the staff and volunteers in-store. Thank you!

Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth established a ReStore in 2002 as a self-sustaining funding source for the organization. Funds raised from the sale of merchandise in the ReStore are used to support our projects locally. At the same time, we provide our local communities with low-cost furniture, home-improvement and building materials. We have items to fit every budget. We stock household items, furniture, home decor, appliances, and many miscellaneous items. Every day is a treasure hunt in the ReStore! New items arrive daily.
The ReStore is open to the public Wed – Sat, 10 AM – 5 PM.

All proceeds support Habitat for Humanity’s programs. These programs include building affordable homes in partnership with low-income, hardworking families and individuals in 83% of Monmouth County.
Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County also serves the community through our “Aging in Place” programs. We build “Ramps and Rails” for qualifying seniors, providing them with safe access to their homes. We also assist vulnerable seniors with house maintenance via our “A Brush With Kindness” program.

Since 2015, the ReStore has diverted almost 6 million pound of unwanted materials from landfills.

To view a full list of items please visit the ReStore homepage on our website.

Yes they are! Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. That means all donations made to our organization are tax deductible. Receipts for all donations will be provided, Receipts for monetary donations will be made in the amount of the donation

Unlike traditional retail stores, the ReStore does not have a separate space to sort and price items. Therefore donated items are often brought straight onto the shop floor. The ReStore is predominantly staffed by volunteers so it can take several hours or days to get everything priced. If you have a question please approach the Manager on duty in the ReStore. Thank you for your patience!

The ReStore is not a thrift store, it is a self-sustaining funding source for Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County. We accept only high quality items, and even though they will be priced below retail, they are priced to provide funding to Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County.
Every purchase helps to fulfill our mission of providing and improving affordable housing in Monmouth County.
But don’t worry you can still find a bargain at the ReStore! Come in and see for yourself.

The ReStore does not offer delivery services. There is a list of local vendors in the store that are available for hire to deliver your purchases. You deal directly with them to arrange delivery and payment. You can also purchase items and leave them in the store while you make arrangements to pick them up yourself – rent a truck, call a friend! We will hold your item for up to 48 hours. PLEASE BRING HELP to  load your purchases as there are many times when we do not have help available in the store. You will also need to bring moving supplies such as blankets, tape, bungee cords, etc.

We will send someone out to remove them! Learn more about our Demo & Deconstruction services HERE.

Please reach out to the store manager in-person, or email us at ReStore@habitatmonmouth.org. Please give us a chance to rectify any issues. Thank you!
