ReStore celebrates 3rd Anniversary on South St!

hfhrestore_s_jpg-web_2.jpgAcross the United States and Canada, Habitat for Humanity ReStores – nonprofit home improvement sores and donation centers - sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. ReStores are independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world.

For more than 10 years, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County has operated a ReStore in Western Monmouth. Three years ago, we made a commitment to expand our impact by moving to a larger location – to increase revenue and our ability to fulfill our mission. Over the last three years, our store on South St has diverted over 2.5 million pounds of waste from landfills and filled homes with beautiful furniture – old and new, and provided building materials to homeowners and contractors. We have established ourselves as an important part of the economic vitality of Freehold while also continuing to support the preservation of our environment ultimately to build communities, homes and hope throughout Monmouth County.

We are committed to our community and the ReStore is an integral part of how we support our programs – new home construction, A Brush with Kindness, Ramps & Rails, and Neighborhood Revitalization. Annually, hundreds of volunteers work in our ReStore and help build our homes along with a dedicated professional staff.

As we celebrate our ReStore’s 3rd Anniversary on South St, we look forward to continuing to grow our impact and our ability to meeting the growing needs in our community.
