AmeriCorps is an opportunity for individuals to serve full-time with Habitat for Humanity to help make a difference in their life and a huge impact on the lives of those around them. Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County is a proud host site for AmeriCorps volunteers, encouraging service-learning while improving our programs and community. 

AmeriCorps National Members - lead volunteer teams on every single house that we build and repair. They serve for 10 months engaging directly with Habitat volunteers, partner families and community members.

AmeriCorps VISTA Members - pave the way for future growth and service to more families by working behind the scenes on policy, procedure, budgets and sustainability, among other vital tasks. They serve for 12 months leveraging human, financial and material resources to build long-term solutions to poverty.

Benefits through AmeriCorps
As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll gain new skills and experiences and find the tremendous satisfaction that comes from helping others.  Full-time members will receive a modest living allowance, an education award, loan forbearance, health benefits, in-service training and child care. along with personal and professional growth opportunities and those who complete their service are eligible to earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,500 to pay for college, graduate school, or to pay back qualified student loans.  What could be better?

Requirements to serve at this site:

•    18 years of age or older
•    U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
•    Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent (or agree to work towards one while serving)
•    Confirm understanding that this is a full-time volunteer opportunity and that AmeriCorps members receive a small living allowance
